As much as we all want to recycle, sometimes we get in our own way. For example, pizza boxes can not go into our cardboard recycle bin, I suspect because it isn't clean and dry cardboard. And what about our McDonald's cups? I am a Diet Pop addict, and usually get one a day from McDonald's because it's located so closely to my office. If I buy the large size, it comes in plastic. But if I buy anything smaller, it's a plastic coated paper cup, and I'm not sure how that gets recycled. Same for the paper cup for my coffee in the morning. Sure, you could ask me why I don't make my coffee at home or buy a 2 liter of pop and bring it to work with me, but, I'm not the only person buying drinks from McDonald's, so it's worth exploring our options. I rinse out my plastic cups and take them home to recycle. I called our waste removal providers and found out that it might not be possible to get a residential type recycle pick up at a business. How can we recycle these products that we all use everyday?

"Buried for our children? I assume that was in jest. However, I do think biodegradable garbage bags should be mandated. How many things have I put in a plastic bag that would have decayed naturally?"

"Perhaps it's time local governments invest in recycling programs at the point of landfill instead of curb side? This would be where they sort through your trash with machinery, what can be recycled they pick out and what can't gets buried for our children and our children's children for them to worry about.
Companies with products that can't be recycled should be looked at and "helped" so they can develop sustainable recyclable products too. We might then one day make it to a zero landfill society...NERVANA!"
